The Berkshires
The Berkshires offers a variety of activities for visitors. Outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing, golfing and more. Located in Berkshire County, the most western part of Massachusetts, this is a wonderful place to visit year round. return to top
The North Shore and Merrimack Valley
There’s more to the North Shore than the Salem Witch Trials (though visiting Salem is very fun!). Museums in Lowell highlight the Industrial Revolution, which began here. Gloucester, a fishing town, was made famous to people outside of the Northeast when it became the setting for the movie “The Perfect Storm.” return to top
Central Massachusetts
Take a walk through the mid-nineteenth century when you visit Old Sturbridge Village. This living museum shows how the people of Massachusetts lived at that time. Or, visit one of the many orchards in Central Massachusetts to pick apples in the fall. Feel like getting lost? Visit one of the many corn mega-mazes in this region in the fall. return to top
Cape Cod and the Islands
The Cape and Islands have much to offer. Visit the many lighthouses in Barnstable, Chatham, Provincetown and everywhere in between. Be sure to eat fresh-caught seafood at any of the great restaurants on the Cape. Whale watching trips are popular in the summer, or you can take the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket for the day. Cape Cod boasts 560 miles of coastline, and so fishing, boating, and swimming are all very popular. return to top
Plymouth County and South of Boston
Day trips outside of Boston are a great way to see more of Massachusetts. Take a trip to Plymouth, where you can visit Plimoth Plantation or walk on the Mayflower II. In New Bedford, visit the Whaling Museum or visit Battleship Cove in Fall River. Don’t forget about Foxboro Stadium, home of the New England Patriots! return to top

The Greater Boston area is full of things to do. Catch a Sox game at Fenway Park, experience an IMax movie at the Museum of Science, shop at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market or on Newbury Street, or relax on the Boston Common. And remember to take the T—Boston’s subway system. return to top
