Sen. Landrieu convenes a Senate field hearing in Gretna to examine what worked well and what didn't leading up to, during and after Hurricane Issac.

Wednesday, Sept. 5
Meeting with residents from Northshore communities, Sen. Landrieu pushes to construct the Lake Pontchartrain Barrier to protect communities along the lake from storm surge.
After visiting the Northshore, Sen. Landrieu meets with Grand Isle officials and is relieved that the island wasn’t too terribly hit. However, she leaves frustrated that the Corps hasn't been able to shore up the barrier islands that protect Grand Isle and all of Southeast Louisiana.
Tuesday, Sept. 4
Sen. Landrieu discusses the President's visit to LaPlace on Monday and the letter she hand delivered to him.
Sen. Landrieu meets with the Coast Guard commandant.
Monday, Sept. 3
President Barack Obama visits the region to view the distruction caused by Hurricane Isaac and view the ongoing recovery. Sen. Landrieu hand delivers the President a letter outlining needs to complete the recovery.

In Shreveport and Alexandria, Sen. Landrieu visits with Louisianians displaced by Hurricane Isaac. Her visit even prompted changes to improve conditions at the shelters.
