Flag Instructions

Senator Schumer’s staff can help organizations and individuals purchase flags that have been flown over the United States Capitol Building for special occasions, such as retirements, birthdays and anniversaries. Flags are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol. It is also possible to get an official United States flag that has not been flown over the Capitol.

Flags can be flown on any day of the year for special occasions or events. Under the governing rules, flags flown over the Capitol must be purchased through a Congressional office.

To have a flag flown over the Capitol, please download, fill out and mail in the form below.  A check made out to the Keeper of the Stationary must also accompany the form in order to complete your request.
