All too often, the federal government hinders economic growth instead of promoting it. America's job creators are atttempting to grow their businesses in the face of burdensome regulations, mandates, and taxes. While some regulatory and tax policies are justified, many have negative impacts that our economy cannot afford right now.

This is one reason that I have introduced the Regulation Moratorium and Job Preservation Act. This legislation gives job creators a temporary breather from costly and destructive new regulations. Once unemployment falls below 7.8 percent, the regulation moraratorium would be lifted. Common-sense reforms like this one can help encourage economic growth when millions of Americans are out of work.
