Senate Foreign Relations Committee Approves Legislation, Resolutions, Ambassadorial Nominations

Washington, DC – At a business meeting led by Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.) this afternoon, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved the following legislation, resolutions, and nominations en bloc by voice vote:
- S. 2215, the Increasing American Jobs Through Greater Exports to Africa Act of 2012, with an amendment in the nature of a substitute
- S. 2318, the Department of State Rewards Program Update and Technical Corrections Act of 2012, with an amendment in the nature of a substitute
- S. 3310, the Foreign Aid Transparency and Accountability Act of 2012, with an amendment in the nature of a substitute
- S. 3331, the Intercountry Adoption Universal Accreditation Act of 2012
- S. 3341, the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review Act of 2012
- S. Con. Res. 50, a concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress regarding actions to preserve and advance the multistakeholder governance model under which the Internet has thrived
- S. Res. 516, a resolution expressing the sense of the Senate on the restitution of or compensation for property seized during the Nazi and Communist eras
- S. Res. 466, a resolution calling for the release from prison of former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko, with amendments in the nature of a substitute
- S. Res. 543, a resolution to express the sense of the Senate on international parental child abduction, with amendments in the nature of a substitute
- The Honorable Richard G. Olson, of New Mexico, to be Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan
- The Honorable John Hardy Isakson, of Georgia, to be a Representative of the United States of America to the Sixty-seventh Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations
- The Honorable Patrick J. Leahy, of Vermont, to be a Representative of the United States of America to the Sixty-seventh Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations
- Joseph E. Macmanus, of New York, to be Representative of the United States of America to the International Atomic Energy Agency, with the rank of Ambassador
- Joseph E. Macmanus, of New York, to be Representative of the United States of America to the Vienna Office of the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador
- Walter North, of Washington, to be Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, and to serve concurrently and without additional compensation as Ambassador to the Solomon Islands and Ambassador to the Republic of Vanuatu
- Sharon English Woods Villarosa, of Texas, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Mauritius, and to serve concurrently and without additional compensation as Ambassador to the Republic of Seychelles
- Dawn M. Liberi, of Florida, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Burundi
- The Honorable Stephen D. Mull, of Virginia, to be Ambassador to the Republic of Poland
- William R. Brownfeld, Kristie Anne Kenney and Thomas Alfred Shannon, Jr., for the personal rank of Career Ambassador in recognition of especially distinguished service over a sustained period
