Crapo To Discuss Energy, Jobs, Tax Policy, Health Care

Will present Spirit of Idaho Awards in Pocatello and Blackfoot

Boise – Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will participate in an alternative energy conference in Idaho Falls and help cut the ribbon for a new energy and education center on the Idaho State University campus in Pocatello this week. He will also present his Spirit of Idaho Award and a Congressional Record Statement to three Idahoans for efforts ranging from stopping teen dating violence to saving a young boy from drowning. Crapo will also keynote the 50th Anniversary gathering of the Idaho State Tax Institute. His schedule this week includes the following events:

Tuesday, November 4

7:00 p.m. Garden City Participates in Election Night activities at the DoubleTree Riverside Hotel, 2900 Chinden Boulevard.

Thursday, November 6

8:00 a.m. Idaho Falls Delivers opening remarks for the Alternative Energy Investment Opportunities Conference “Growing an Energy Cluster,” which seeks to build alternative energy opportunities in southeastern Idaho. At the Red Lion Inn on the Falls, 475 River Parkway.

10:00 a.m. Blackfoot Presents Spirit of Idaho Award to Kim Blake of Riverside for her fundraising efforts that improved recreational facilities at Snake River Middle School. At Snake River Middle School, 1060 West 110 South.

Noon Pocatello Delivers keynote remarks on the future of tax policy during the Idaho State Tax Institute 50th Anniversary Conference. At the Pocatello Holiday Inn Ballroom, 1399 Bench Road.

1:30 p.m. Pocatello Accepts the “Friend of Farm Bureau Award” from the Idaho Farm Bureau, Idaho Farm Bureau Offices, 275 Terra Vista Drive.

3:00 p.m. Pocatello Presents Spirit of Idaho Award to Dylan White of Fort Hall for saving a five-year old boy from drowning at Jensen’s Grove last July. At the Hawthorne Middle School Gymnasium, 1025 West Eldredge Street.

5:00 p.m. Blackfoot Discusses health care policy with officials at Bingham Memorial Hospital and congratulates Director of Nursing Vicki Allen for receiving the 2007 Top Honor in Nursing Award from the Idaho Health Care Heroes Awards, a group of Idaho health care professionals. At Bingham Memorial Hospital, 98 Poplar Street.

Friday, November 7

9:00 a.m. Pocatello Speaks at a ceremony to open the Energy Systems Technology and Education Center on the Idaho State University Campus. The Center is a joint partnership between Idaho State University, the Idaho National Laboratory and Partners for Prosperity, and will center on energy development and workforce training initiatives. At the Idaho State University Stephens Performing Arts Center, 1002 Sam Nixon.

10:30 a.m. Pocatello Joins in ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Energy Systems Technology and Education Center. At the Center, Building 49.

3:00 p.m. American Falls Presents Congressional Record Statement honoring Erika Ramirez of American Falls High School for her efforts on the Idaho Teen Dating Advisory Council. The group seeks to stop teen dating violence statewide. At the American Falls High School Auditorium, 2966 S. Frontage Road.
