SILICON VALLEY GROUP BACKS CYBERSECURITY ACT, S.3414

WASHNGTON – An organization of powerful Silicon Valley businesses is putting its weight behind the cybersecurity legislation sponsored by Senators Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., Susan Collins, R-Maine, Jay Rockefeller, D. W.Va., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

The Silicon Valley Leadership group – an organization of 375 member companies, including Facebook, Google, and Adobe – has written to the five co-sponsors of the Cybersecurity Act of 2012, S. 3414 indicating its support for the bill.

The Cybersecurity Act “would immediately improve public and private cybersecurity infrastructure without adding unnecessary expense or bureaucracy… Thank you for your leadership in moving us in a positive direction and for taking a bold step to move this issue forward on the Senate floor,” the Leadership Group wrote.
