Flag requests

Senator Nelson can arrange for a U.S. flag to be flown at your request over the U.S. Capitol Building for special occasions such as retirements and anniversaries.

Accompanying the flag is a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol. The certificate includes the name of the person or organization the flag was flown for, the date and the occasion. Due to increased security screening of all mail addressed to Congress, it generally takes about eight to ten weeks to receive a flag after it’s been requested.

To order a flag, print the flag order form and mail it to Senator Nelson’s Orlando office with a check made out to the "Keeper of the Stationery." All prices include the flying and certification fee as well as the shipping and handling for each flag purchased. Flag requests cannot be made via the Internet or telephone.
