MIIA_domCongresswoman Matsui joins House Democrats in announcing the Make it in America initiative

"Make It In America" is a legislative initiative from House Democrats to increase American manufacturing and create new American jobs. Our national manufacturing strategy creates the high-skill, high-wage jobs of the future by promoting American competitiveness, innovation, and exports. We must ensure that our manufacturing jobs stay here and assist in our nation's economic recovery

In January 2011, I reintroduced the Clean Energy Technology Manufacturing and Export Assistance Act, which is part of the Make It In America initiative. The Clean Energy Technology Manufacturing and Export Assistance Act, which would boost the competiveness of the U.S. clean technology industry in both domestic and international markets, passed the House in July of 2010, during the 111th Congress, but was not taken up by the Senate before the end of the session. I am hopeful that it will be able to pass both the House and the Senate this year.  Investing in American-made technology and products is a clear path to economic recovery, renewed financial stability, and measurable job growth.
