Pasadena

Home to Congressman Schiff’s district office, Pasadena is perhaps most famous for the Tournament of Roses, the Rose Bowl, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the California Institute of Technology.

Present day Pasadena is situated on land once occupied by the Hahamogna Tribe of Indians.  Located just 15 minutes from downtown Los Angeles at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, the city's popular shops and restaurants blend comfortably with tree-lined streets, distinctive neighborhoods, historic buildings and a vibrant cultural scene.

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau provide information on the multitude of dining, meeting, hotel and entertainment venues in Pasadena.

In addition to Caltech, Pasadena is home to the California School of Culinary Arts, the Art Center College of Design, and Pasadena Community College.

The city boasts a diverse and multicultural population of 133,936, according to the 2000 census.
