Information Alert: Eligible Veterans Now Able to Have Disability Ratings Reviewed

The Department of Defense Physical Disability Board of Review (PDBR) is now able to review the disability ratings of service members who have been medically separated since September 11, 2001 to ensure that the ratings are fair and accurate. However, less than 1,000 of the estimated 77,000 service members who are eligible to have their disability ratings reviewed have requested a review. To be eligible for PDBR review, a service member must have been medically separated between September 11, 2001 and December 31, 2009, have a combined disability rating of 20 percent or less and not found eligible for retirement. You may access more information about the PDBR application process online at www.health.mil/About_MHS/Organizations/MHS_Offices_and_Programs/pdbr.aspx.

Please share this information with former service members who may be eligible to apply to have their disability ratings reviewed and contact my office if you have any additional questions.
