Capito Statement On 71st Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., released the following statement in remembrance of Pearl Harbor:

“Today we remember those who perished on this day 71 years ago in the attack on Pearl Harbor.  We remember and honor their bravery and sacrifice while taking a moment to humbly reflect on the tremendous honor it is to call ourselves Americans, where citizens willingly put themselves in harm’s way to protect freedom and opportunity.

“As the daughter of a World War II veteran who was gravely wounded in combat, I am especially grateful for the brave men and women who signed up for service following the Pearl Harbor attacks. Seven decades later, we are a safer, freer nation because of their service, and the service of all those in uniform.”
