Apply for an InternshipWorking in a Congressional office can be an exciting opportunity. Congresswoman Velázquez offers internships for college students in her Washington, DC office and her three district offices. 

Interns play an important role in keeping the offices running smoothly.  Duties may include assisting legislative staff members with research projects, drafting and editing written materials, and answering phones. 

Because Congresswoman Velázquez is the Chairwoman of the House Committee on Small Business, interns in the Washington, DC office may also assist Committee staff with preparation for hearings and perform Committee-related research projects. 

Internships are unpaid, but can be applied toward college credit. Spanish language skills are helpful, but not required.
