Flag Requests
One of the services I provide to Hawaii constituents is the opportunity to have a flag flown on your behalf over the United States Capitol. You can obtain a flag by filling out the request form below and mailing it, along with proper payment, to my office. (I regret that my office is unable to accept requests via telephone, fax, or e-mail.) A flag certificate will accompany the flag, verifying that the flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol, as well as the date the flag was flown, and optional information you may submit via the form (such as the name of the recipient and/or the occasion for the flag to be flown).
The Flag Office estimates a three week turn around time. The flag and certification should be received within three weeks from the flying date. Please allow four to six weeks for processing and delivery. Occasionally, meaningful days are selected for flying, or often, the requester will ask that the flag be flown on the earliest date available. Flags are flown every day of the year, except on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
