VA Benefits
The U.S Department of Veterans Affairs provides a wide range of benefits including, Disability, Education and Training, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, Home Loan Guaranty, Dependant and Survivor Benefits, Medical Treatment, Life Insurance and Burial Benefits. You may be eligible for VA benefits if you are a:
- Veteran, Veteran's dependent
- Surviving spouse, child or parent of a deceased Veteran
- Uniformed service member
- Present or former reservist or National Guard member

State and Local Services.
The Florida Department of Veterans Affairs operates many housing, employment, education and advocacy programs for veterans. FDVA also maintains a lists of county veteran service offices and local service organizations in Florida.
Military Records and Medals
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the official repository for records of military personnel who have been discharged from the U.S. Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard. Most records can be found online through the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Medals and awards can also be replaced. Generally, there is no charge for medal or award replacements. The length of time to receive a response or your medals and awards varies depending upon the branch of service sending the medals.
Memorial Honors
My office can provide a Congressional Commendation in honor of those who have served. Additionally, many veterans are eligible for a number of benefits and honors upon their deaths. The Department of Defense provides military funeral honors including the presentation of the United States flag for eligible veterans. Veterans may also qualify for assistance with the cost of burial or for gravesites within the nation’s cemeteries.
