Winners of "Artistic Discovery" Art Contest to Be Announced Saturday, May 5th
SAN DIMAS, CA – The winner of the "Artistic Discovery" Congressional Art Contest sponsored by Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas) will be announced at the Historical Walker House in San Dimas this Saturday, May 5, 2012, at noon. The Contest is part of a national art competition for high school students sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The program is designed to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of young American high school students. A competition is held annually in Congressional Districts across the country. The winning entries are displayed for one year in a public exhibit in the United States Capitol. The runner-up for the 26th District will have his or her artwork displayed in Congressman Dreier's District Office in San Dimas.
The winner will be chosen from 70 art entries that were submitted from high school students from all over the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire. The winning artist will also be invited to attend the national reception in Washington, D.C. honoring other prizewinners from all over the country.
