Rep. Towns Remembers the Events of September 11, 2001

Sep 11, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Edolphus “Ed” Towns issued the following statement today in remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001:

“As we reflect back on the tragedy of September 11, 2001, we remember how citizens of our great nation looked beyond our differences and rallied in support of those who lost dear ones at the hands of the terrorists, the survivors and the brave first responders.  We must recapture that sense of belonging, of being in this together, if we are to overcome the challenges we still face today.

“As a proud social worker, I want to take this time to remember the contributions so many social workers made on that fateful day.  Social workers responded valiantly, tending to the needs of traumatized victims and their families.  We will never forget the events of that day and we should always remember the pride we shared as we rallied together as Americans.”
