WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) today issued the following statement regarding the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that took the life of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans:
“Coinciding with the anniversary of 9/11, this apparently coordinated attack reminds us that we must remain ever vigilant against terrorism, and as President Obama has made clear, justice will be done. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of Ambassador Stevens and the other U.S. personnel that were killed, as well as our diplomatic corps all over the world that advance our national interests every day. These are extremely dedicated public servants often working under dangerous conditions, and we honor all that they do on behalf of our country.”
