Brookfield, Sep 28 -

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) reminds those interested in applying for a nomination to the United States Service Academies that the application deadline of October 15, 2012 is rapidly approaching, and that late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

United States citizens residing in Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District who are at least 17 years of age, but not past their 23rd birthday as of July 1, 2013 are eligible to apply.

Candidates who have completed files will be interviewed by a member of Congressman Sensenbrenner’s Academy Selection Committee.  Committee members will then make nomination recommendations to the Congressman based on the applicant’s ability to meet the academic and physical qualifications set by the academies.

“Every year I look forward to working with my Selection Committee to nominate students from around the district to attend the US Service Academies. Those interested in a nomination to attend an Academy should contact my District Office for more information.  It is important to remember that my deadline is just over two weeks away, and applications must be into my District Office by close of business on October 15 to be considered,” said Sensenbrenner.

Additional information about the nomination process may be obtained by contacting Congressman Sensenbrenner’s District Office at 120 Bishops Way, Room 154, Brookfield, WI 53005 or by phone at (262) 784-1111 or (800) 242-1119.
