CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGES ON THE SENATE SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON AGING

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, announced that Chad Metzler will assume the position of Staff Director for the Special Committee on Aging, while remaining a Senior Policy Advisor for Senator Kohl. Additionally, Joy McGlaun will take on the role as Deputy Staff Director for the committee.

After 5 years as Staff Director on the Senate Aging Committee, Deb Whitman is taking on a new position as Executive Vice President for Policy at the AARP.

Metzler brings more than 15 years of Capitol Hill experience to the position of Staff Director.  He began his career working for Senator Kohl. In 1998 he took on the role as a Legislative Assistant before becoming Legislative Director in 2006. Metzler received a B.A. from the University of Chicago as well as a M.A. from George Washington University.

McGlaun has a long history working on Capitol Hill and in 2008 began working as Senior Policy Advisor for Senator Kohl on the Senate Special Committee on Aging. Prior to her work for Senator Kohl she has also worked in varying capacities for Senator Russ Feingold, Congressman Vic Snyder and Congressman Jim Turner. Additionally, McGlaun served as a Truman Fellow at the Department of Health and Human Services. McGlaun received a B.A. from Texas Tech University.
