Nov 9, 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, (KY-01), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power, released the following statement regarding AT&T’s announcement that it will invest $14 billion to expand wireless and wireline broadband accessibility.

“I applaud AT&T’s further investment to expand broadband accessibility, especially in rural areas.  This expansion will allow more people access to faster internet services. Expanding this infrastructure will connect more Americans, especially those in rural communities, to opportunities around the world through the global internet, benefitting people through greater education opportunities, consumer and trade opportunities, and work from home opportunities.”
