Shelter and evacuation center locations are subject to change based on need and/or external

Shelters Open in Tuscaloosa

  • Belk Center at Bowers Park - (205) 562-3200
  • St. Mark United Methodist Church, Northport  - (205) 339-5990
  • UA Rec Center (mainly for students)  - (205) 348-5164

 

Shelters Open in Birmingham

  • Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham has opened for anyone in need of shelter.
  • Vestavia Hills Civic Center will be a Red Cross shelter starting at 5:00 p.m. It's located at 1975 Merryvale Road off Highway 31.
  • Gethsemane Baptist Church on Highway 160 in Hayden is opening their basement for those needing shelter.
  • The City of Westover Storm Shelter is OPEN. It is located at the City Hall at 3312 Westover Road, Westover, AL 35147 (on Old Highway 280 just East of Highway 55).
  • The Calera Police Department says a shelter has opened at the National Guard armory in Calera on 8th Avenue.

 

Shelters Open in St. Clair County

A list of emergency shelters in St. Clair County from the St. Clair County Emergency Management Association:

  • Ashville First Baptist Church open for the duration.
  • Ashville courthouse open for duration.
  • Crosspoint Baptist Church in Argo/Trussville for electronic needs only (like oxygen) -- not a shelter.
  • Margaret Elementary open as a shelter & electronic needs.
  • Mt Pisgah Baptist Church in Cropwell open for duration.
  • Pell City courthouse open for duration & electronic needs.
  • Springville Baptist Church open for electric needs only (as of now).
  • Riverside Community Shelter open for duration.
  • Springville Baptist Church opens at 4PM for shelter for a maximum of 10 families (must bring own sleeping bags, flashlight).
  • Springville Methodist Church open for shelter & electric needs for duration.
  • Ragland 1st Baptist has no power, but the building is open for shelter from storm.
