Dreier to Host Annual College Fair
SAN DIMAS, CA – Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas, CA) announced today that he will host his annual College Fair next Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Duarte High School Library. The “Saving, Planning, and Paying for College” workshop will provide students and families with information on how to pay for college and start the admissions process.
“Saving and paying for college is particularly daunting during these difficult economic times,” Dreier said. “That is why I am proud to be working with Sallie Mae again this year to help families gather information regarding financial aid, grants, scholarships, work study and loans for college. There is help available for those who need it. The value of a college education cannot be underestimated, so it is critical that we help students and their families plan for tomorrow, today.”
The “Saving, Planning and Paying for College” workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Duarte High School Library, 1565 East Central Avenue, Duarte, CA. There will be two workshops, the first beginning at 5:30 p.m. PT and the second at 6:30 p.m. PT. The event is free and open to the public and media. Area students and parents are welcome to the event to learn about ways to pay for college, the admissions process, and the opportunity to interact with financial aid experts.
