Congressional Art Competition

Each spring the United States House of Representatives sponsors an art competition for high school students.  The winning entry from Maryland’s Eighth Congressional District will be displayed in the United States Capitol alongside artwork from every congressional district across the country.  The runners-up will be displayed in Congressman Van Hollen’s offices.

All high school students who reside in or attend school in the Eighth Congressional District are encouraged to participate.  Entry forms need to be submitted to the Congressman’s office by Friday, April 13, 2012.

A juried exhibition of approximately 90 pieces of the submitted artwork will be on display at VisArts at Rockville from April 26-May 17, 2012.

Congressman Van Hollen will host an Arts Celebration and Awards Reception at VisArts at Rockville on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. to honor all participants.
