Rahall Calls for Action to Prevent Cuts to National Guard Budget
As lawmakers in the House and Senate negotiate the defense budget for the remainder of the current fiscal year, U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-W.Va.) late Thursday urged Members of the House and Senate Armed Service Committees to protect the West Virginia Air National Guard from cuts to its force structure and manpower as proposed in the U.S. Air Force budget submission earlier this year.

Rahall Presses FEMA to Expedite West Virginia Disaster Assistance
With thousands of West Virginia residents still waiting to hear if they will be eligible for individual disaster assistance following Superstorm Sandy, U.S. Rep. Nick J. Rahall, top Democrat on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today pressed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to ensure that West Virginians affected by the Storm receive the full range of Federal assistance.

ROCKEFELLER, MANCHIN, RAHALL ANNOUNCE FUNDING FOR HEALTH CENTERS ACROSS WV

Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin, along with Congressman Nick Rahall, today announced more than $916,000 in federal funding for three medical centers in West Virginia to continue operations and improve preventive care. The three facilities receiving funding are Camden-On-Gauley Medical Center, Rainelle Medical Center, and St. George Medical Clinic.
