Education and Children's Issues

Rep. Markey has long advocated for changes to provide the best public education system possible for our children. By rewarding projects and programs that elevate educational standards and performance, we can encourage better results and reward successful teaching methods. In 2010, Rep Markey was able to help Massachusetts secure $250 million in Race to the Top funding, which rewards states that have taken key steps towards turning around struggling school districts.

In addition, Rep. Markey has advocated for increased online privacy protections for children, programs to fight childhood obesity, and fair access to student loans.
