Veterans

In the decade since Sept. 11, 2001, five million brave Americans have served in our Armed Forces, working and fighting to keep us safe from harm. This past May, they achieved a tremendous victory when the hunt for Osama bin Laden finally ended in his death. As we pay tribute to the extraordinary skill and heroism of those who have served or are currently serving our nation, we cannot forget the price they have paid. Over the last 10 years, more than 6,200 Americans have made the ultimate sacrifice and 45,000 have been wounded in action. All of these men and women have sacrificed so we can be free. Making sure we honor the service of each and every one of America’s 22 million veterans – in both word and deed – is of the utmost importance to Congressman Lipinski. On a daily basis, his office helps veterans navigate the VA bureaucracy to get the care and benefits they have earned. As always, he continues to listen closely to Third District veterans and to work to ensure America fulfills its obligations to all those who have fought for our freedom. These are difficult times for our country, and the bad economy has been especially hard on veterans. The Congressman strongly believes Washington must stop the pointless partisan bickering and focus on job creation and commonsense deficit reduction while preserving critical veterans’ benefits.
