Sign the Petition to Repeal Obama's Medicare Cut Panel: IPAB

The current Medicare debate is an important and necessary conversation our nation must have, as the solvency of the program is in serious jeopardy. In 2024, the system will go bankrupt, and with millions of Americans relying on it for their health care, we need to address the issue now.

So far, President Obama’s only idea has been to grant more power to the Independent Payment Advisory Board – an unelected panel of bureaucrats unaccountable to the American people. This panel would disproportionately cut care from the sickest and poorest seniors in the Medicare program and provide no way forward for the seniors who will enter the program in the future.

This is not a real solution nor does it represent true leadership on the issue of Medicare reform. In fact, the arbitrary cuts this panel will impose will drive suppliers of health care services away from Medicare. We need to overcome the real hurdles the Medicare program faces – not mislead the American people and hide behind the President’s Medicare rationing panel.

I strongly urge President Obama to remove IPAB and stop a bureaucratic government panel from cutting our health care.
