Bill Johnson Statement on Pearl Harbor Anniversary

Washington, D.C., Dec 7 -

Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement today remembering the attack on Pearl Harbor that occurred 71 years ago today.

“The attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 serves as a constant reminder that the world is a dangerous place, and that we must maintain the ability to defend ourselves from those that would do us harm. While the threats America faces today are different, the freedoms we as Americans cherish are as fragile as they are sacred, and should never be taken for granted,” said Bill Johnson.

Johnson added, “While we honor those heroes who perished on that December morning, we must keep in our hearts and prayers those who are currently serving at home and around the world. Their dedication, vigilance, and service – especially during this holiday season – remind us that freedom isn’t free. We owe all of our service members and their families – active, retired, serving at home and abroad – a great debt of gratitude.”
