“I am humbled and honored to have been chosen by my colleagues to serve on the House Energy and Commerce Committee -- the oldest, and one of the most influential, legislative committees in Congress. The Energy and Commerce Committee oversees America’s energy, healthcare, and telecommunications industries that are so vital to the economic growth of Eastern and Southeastern Ohio.  As a member of the committee, I will be able to further my efforts to STOP President Obama’s regulatory assault on domestic energy production, and strengthen Medicare for current and future seniors. Having a seat on Energy and Commerce is a great responsibility and will provide Eastern and Southeastern Ohio with a more prominent voice on important policy issues that affect our lives. I want to thank Chairman Fred Upton for this opportunity, and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the significant challenges that face our nation,” said Bill Johnson.

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton added, “Bill Johnson will make a great addition to the House Energy and Commerce Committee - we have worked together before and I know his Ohio district well. He is a proven leader on the issues relating to the committee – especially with his hard work in standing up for jobs in the fight against the Obama administration’s war on coal and regulatory assault on domestic energy production. I look forward to working with Bill to further our commitment to creating jobs, making America more energy independent, and spurring economic growth.”
