Veterans

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the men and women who have so honorably served this nation.  Words cannot express how proud I feel to live in a country where so many brave service members sacrifice their time, energy, skills and lives for our freedom.

As your representative in Washington, I am committed to ensuring that our veterans and their families have access to and support from VA for the benefits they have rightly earned.

In these tight fiscal times, there are many questions about the federal budget and the impact the economy will have on VA and our veterans.  Please be assured that providing veterans with the resources needed to live independent and productive lives is a priority of mine.  This is demonstrated in the Paul Ryan Budget 2013 budget, which increases spending on veteran’s programs next year to $61.4 billion and will prevent the Administration from raiding veterans’ benefits for non-veteran programs.

Additionally, as a veteran of the United State of America you and your family may be eligible for broad range of benefits provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  Please know that my staff and I stand ready to aid you in obtaining your hard earned benefits.
