Internships

I strive to provide a quality learning experience for undergraduate students in a highly professional, fast-paced, hands-on environment through internship opportunities in both the district and the D.C. office.

Each of our offices offer students experience-based, unpaid internships for semester and summer sessions. Our office seeks all interested students who have completed at least four (4) semesters of undergraduate study prior to the commencement of the internship.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task, possess excellent communication skills, and interact well with constituents. Qualified candidates should also possess a service-oriented attitude and a willingness to enjoy the experience. Responsibilities in the Washington, D.C. office include answering the phone, giving tours of the Capitol, and assisting with constituent correspondence. Responsibilities in the Arizona office include answering the phone, assisting with constituent casework, correspondence, and events.

Strong ties to the Fifth District of Arizona or the state of Arizona are preferred, but we encourage anyone to apply. Interested candidates should email a cover letter and resume with a title noting the internship season in the subject line, i.e. 'Spring Internship Applicant'.

Arizona applicants may submit resume and cover letter directly to Ernestina.Borquez-Smith@mail.house.gov. Washington applicants may submit resume and cover letter to az05internship@gmail.com.

Our office accepts internship applications for each internship session until all positions have been filled. However, for priority consideration, please adhere to the following deadlines:

Spring Internships
December 7

Summer Internships
March 30

Fall Internships
July 27
