Presidential Greetings

Occasion of Presidential Greetings. A limited number of special occasions exist for which the White House Greetings Office will send appropriate recognition. These occasions include important events such as:

Weddings and Anniversaries

  • Wedding (sent after wedding date)
  • Wedding Anniversary Greetings (25, 50, 60, 65)
  • Letter: 70 and every year thereafter

Birthdays

  • Birthday Greetings (Age 80, 85, 90, 95)
  • Letter: 100 and every year thereafter

  • Veteran’s Birthday (ages 70 and up)

Baby

  • Birth of Baby (must be born during the current Administration; send request only after baby's birth)
  • Adoption of Child
  • Retirement
  • 30 years or more in the workforce
  • Letter: 45 years or more in workforce

Other

  • Condolence Letter (for next of kin only)
  • Serious Illness Letter
  • Family Reunion: 25 and every 5 years thereafter
  • Graduation (College/Post Graduate)
  • Religious Milestone (Baptism, First Communion, Br or Bat Mitzvah, etc.)
  • Eagle Scout
  • Girl Scout Gold Award
  • Pastoral Anniversaries: 25 and every 5 years thereafter
  • Church Anniversaries: 25, 50, 75 and every 5 years thereafter

These greetings are limited to United States citizens only.   Advance Notice Required.  Your request must be received six (6) weeks in advance of the event date. We make every effort to honor every request, but we cannot guarantee a greeting if this guideline is not met. (Greetings are generally not sent after the event date, except for wedding congratulations and newborn acknowledgements). 

Required Information.  Please include the following in your request:

  • Name of Honoree(s), including title: Mr., Ms., Mrs., Dr., Miss
  • Home Address of Honoree(s)
  • Your Name (the requestor) and Daytime Phone Number
  • Exact Date of Occasion (MM/DD/YYYY)
  • The Occasion Greetings are Request For:
    • Birthday Requests: 
    • Age
    • Wedding Anniversary: Number of Years of Marriage
    • Wedding: Couple's Married Names And Date Of Wedding
    • Get Well: Indicate Recipient as Adult or Child
    • Graduation: Level of Degree
    • Religious Milestone: List the Achievement
    • Birth of Baby: Baby's Date of Birth and Full Name
    • Retirement: Number of Years/Profession
    • Eagle/Girl Scout Gold Award: Date of Ceremony
       

Requesting Presidential Greetings. Requests should be sent to Congressman Brady’s Washington, DC Office via fax (220-225-0088) or email (Kyle.Wherrity@mail.house.gov).

When to Expect Your Greeting. In most cases, greetings will be mailed from the White House approximately ten (10) days prior to the event.
