Committee Assignments
Due to the large volume of work Congress handles, it divides tasks among Committees and Subcommittees. The House and Senate each have their own committee system. The House’s committees consider bills and issues and oversee agencies, programs, and activities within their jurisdictions. In the House, Congresswoman Buerkle serves on three committees:
