- I fully respect Ambassador Susan Rice’s decision to remove her name from consideration for Secretary of State. Her more than two decades of experience promoting peace and security in regions plagued by instability and crisis made her extraordinarily qualified to serve as America’s top diplomat. It is unfortunate she had to make this decision in the face of such unfounded and unfair character attacks. If judged fairly based solely on her qualifications for the job, she would've made an extraordinary Secretary of State.

- Many concerned constituents stopped by my office today to share their support for extending tax cuts for middle-class Americans and what $2,000 means for their families. I agreed -- we must preserve this tax cut for 98% of Americans. Last week, I signed a petition calling for an immediate vote in Congress on extending these cuts.
