Adoption Resources
In honor of National Adoption Month this November, 62 members of the House of Representatives co-sponsored a bipartisan resolution bringing awareness to and supporting the goals and ideals of National Adoption Day and National Adoption Month. Currently, 114,000 children in foster care system are awaiting adoption, with 87,000 calling the system home, while 28,000 will age out without ever having had the support of a permanent family.
National Adoption Month and Day focuses on promoting awareness of adoption and the children in foster care awaiting families, celebrating children and families involved in adoption, recognizing current programs and efforts designed to promote adoption, and encouraging people in the United States to seek improved safety, permanency and well-being for all children.

On the website one can view photolistings of waiting children from 5 metropolitan areas which host local Wednesday’s Child weekly features: Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
The Heart Gallery- Los Angeles
Recognized as a national leader in promoting adoption, Heart Gallery provides a voice and a face for children in foster care across America. Collaborating with professional, often notable photographers, compelling photographs of children in foster care are displayed in traveling exhibits called Heart Galleries.
