Braley Announces Ticket Lottery for President Obama’s Second Inauguration

Nov 28, 2012

Registration for online-only lottery ends on December 14th

Washington, D. C. – Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) today announced that his office is offering tickets to the public for President Obama’s Second Inauguration on January 21st, 2013, in Washington, D.C. Due to the limited number of available tickets, tickets cannot be guaranteed for all that apply.  Therefore, Braley’s office will hold an online lottery to determine distribution.

To request tickets, constituents must enter the lottery at the following website: http://braley.house.gov/inauguration-tickets. Applicants are limited to four tickets per request, and the deadline to apply is December 14th, 2012.  The lottery is open to the public, but preference will be given to residents of the First Congressional District.  There is no fee or charge to enter the lottery or for the tickets.

Each party who receives tickets from Braley’s office will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements.  Winners will be notified in late December and will be given information on how to pick up their tickets at that time.

There will be a number of inauguration-related events that do not require tickets.  For more information on events not requiring tickets, Iowans are encouraged to visit the following website: http://inaugural.senate.gov

Iowans are reminded that the Braley lottery is for tickets to the inauguration ceremony only on January 21st.  Tickets to inaugural balls, parties, and the inauguration parade are coordinated by the Presidential Inauguration Committee and the White House.  Rep. Braley does not have a role in distributing tickets to these events.
