Bachmann Releases Statement Honoring our Veterans

Nov 11, 2012 Issues: Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs

On Veterans Day, we pause to remember the brave American heroes who sacrificed so much to preserve our great nation. Though we celebrate Veterans Day once a year, we reap the benefits of freedom every day.  America's courageous sons and daughters deserve to be honored for their tremendous sacrifices.

This past year I am thrilled that we were able to provide for our Minnesota veterans a new clinic in Ramsey, and I had the opportunity to visit our local troops in the Middle East. The coming months will prove challenging for the well-being of our veterans. The uncertainty of the pending "fiscal cliff" and sequestration cuts puts funding into question. I am pleased to support bipartisan measures to protect our veterans and look forward to continuing to do so in the 113th Congress.

It is because of our veterans that we are free, safe and sovereign. As your representative, it has been my honor to stand up for those who stood up for us all.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for those who defend our nation, and I encourage every American to thank them for their selflessness.

God bless you and God bless the United States of America.
