Bingaman Announces $1.38 Million for New Mexico High-Risk Health Insurance Pool Print Share

Monday, September 24, 2012

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman today announced that New Mexico will receive an estimated $1.38 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) help the New Mexico Medical Insurance Pool continue to offer health care insurance options to those who otherwise are denied coverage and considered uninsurable due to preexisting conditions.

β€œIn 2014, when the Affordable Care Act takes full effect, no American will be denied health insurance coverage due to a preexisting condition.  Until then many New Mexicans will continue to look to the New Mexico Medical Insurance Pool for health care insurance options and this funding will help them continue to do so,” Bingaman said.
