Internships

Unfortunately, I am no longer able to accept internship applications as I will not be a member of the 113th Congress beginning in 2013.

I invite all interested college students and recent college graduates to apply for an internship in any of my offices. These highly competitive positions provide an insider’s view of the legislative process and the daily operations of a congressional office.

Limited intern positions are available during both the academic school year and the summer. Candidates should be able to make a commitment of at least 10 weeks, and for summer internships a commitment of 10 to 12 weeks Monday – Friday is preferred. Applicants selected to proceed through the internship selection process should expect to have an interview either by telephone or in person.

Ideal candidates should possess good oral and written communication skills, be highly motivated, demonstrate knowledge of computer applications, exhibit creativity and show initiative.

Internships are unpaid, however, if academic credit can be awarded through your school, my office will be happy to assist in that process.

Please have a resume prepared to submit for consideration.
