Adams Statement on Egypt and Libya Terrorist Attacks

Washington, Sep 12 -

Rep. Sandy Adams (FL-24) released the following statement regarding the attacks in Egypt and Libya that resulted in the death of four Americans, including the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.

“I condemn in the strongest terms possible the unprovoked attacks by Islamist extremists on our American consulate in Libya and Embassy in Egypt, and send my thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims today,” said Adams.  “These violent attacks are a stark reminder that militant extremists are plotting each day to attack America and its allies and destroy our way of life and freedoms.  The United States stands for peace and freedom around the globe, and while we understand that freedom of speech and religion can be disconcerting to some, they are inalienable rights of all free people and must be protected.  I call on the Egyptian and Libyan governments to take swift actions to bring those individuals behind these terrorist attacks to justice and make it clear that the sovereign embassies and consulates of the United States will be respected by the rule of law.”
