Veteran's Resources

New York is home to more than one million men and women who have served in the Armed Services. As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I am working to ensure that our veterans, service members and their families who have sacrificed for us all are given the very best opportunities and benefits.

Finding the resources that meet your needs and navigating through a complex web of agencies can be a difficult task. For this reason, I have created this Veterans Service site which provides information on the resources, benefits, services and grants that are available to veterans.

Please select your county on the map below to find the resources available to you.

Nationwide Resources

Below is a list of national resources that connect veterans, service members and their families with a wide range of national, state and local resources, including employment, education, benefits, health, housing, family assistance, grants and more.

Joining Forces is a national initiative started by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden to support and honor our service members and their families by mobilizing public and private sectors. Visit http://www.whitehouse.gov/joiningforces.

Department of Veterans Affairs is the official VA website providing information about all VA services and resources, including VA benefits, healthcare, family assistance, education, employment and more.

New York State Division of Veterans Affairs provides benefits counseling and advocacy for New York veterans and their families. Call (888) 838-7697 or search the state directory http://veterans.ny.gov/NYSDVAAUGUST2011Directory.pdf to locate county and state benefits counselors.
