Coats Announces Chief of Naval Operations to Visit NSA Crane in Indiana

WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, today announced that Admiral Jonathan W. Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), will visit the Naval Support Activity Crane (NSA Crane) in Indiana on Monday, December 10. Coats invited Admiral Greenert to visit NSA Crane when he testified before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense in March.

"I am pleased Admiral Greenert has accepted my invitation to visit Crane so he can see firsthand the advanced work patriotic Hoosiers have done to harness the power of technology for our nation's warfighters," said Coats. "This will be the first time a Chief of Naval Operations has visited Crane, and I look forward to showing Admiral Greenert how this naval installation continues to support our warfighters in the focus areas of strategic missions, electronic warfare and special missions."

NSA Crane in southern Indiana is the third largest naval installation in the world with an annual business base of approximately $2 billion. Crane's nearly 100 square miles and Indiana's low cost of living (22.7% below U.S. average) gives it capability and capacity to grow. With nearly 3,700 civilian employees and 1,700 contractors, NSA Crane is one of Indiana's largest employers.
