Senator Lamar Alexander’s office offers tours of the Capitol through the Capitol Visitors Center as well as several other major Washington DC attractions.  You may request the available tours by filling out the Visiting DC Tour Request Form or call the office directly at (202) 224-4944.

White House Tours

Tours of the White House have been expanded to include parties of 10 or more people, regardless of age or type of group, through one's Member of Congress. All tours are self-guided, although tour officers are positioned throughout the White House to help answer questions and provide interesting information.

In order to best accommodate your request, please submit tour requests as soon as possible.  Tour requests must be submitted at least six weeks in advance and may be submitted up to six months in advance.  Please note that tours fill up very quickly during holiday times and in the spring and summer months.

On September 4, 2009 President Obama announced that visitor access records to the White House Complex will be made publicly available 90-120 days after the date of visit. This policy includes all guests touring the White House. Please be aware that your full name and the date of your visit will be part of the publicly released records. Your date of birth, Social Security Number and all other information provided will not be released.

White House Visitor Center

The White House Visitor Center located at the southeast corner of 15th and E Streets, and is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The center features many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, and relations with the press and world leaders, as well as a 30-minute video. The White House Historical Association also sponsors a sales area. Restrooms are available, but food service is not.
