-WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today released the following statement on the announcement that Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) will resign his Senate seat to become president of the Heritage Foundation:
“Congratulations to the Heritage Foundation and to Jim DeMint on his selection. I’ll miss Jim in the Senate, but he should be a strong and effective leader for Heritage.”
