Turner Commends Israel’s Self Defense Measures

Calls on President Obama To Back Claims Of Support

New York – Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) today commended Israel for the manner in which it is going about defending its citizens and is calling on President Obama to back his statements of support.

“I would like to commend Israel for showing restraint during the initial days of escalated attacks from Gaza. The increased missile strikes by Palestinian militants into the heart of Israel have put even more innocent citizens in danger, and I support Israeli leadership’s decision to defend them,” Turner said.

It is during times of conflict when you learn who your real allies are. It is when your words must turn into action. President Obama has repeatedly stated that he ‘has Israel’s back,’ and now it is his time to prove it.”

Congressman Bob Turner represents New York’s 9th Congressional district and serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and House Committee on Homeland Security.
