Inaguration Request Form

Thank you for your interest in the events surrounding the 57th Presidential Inauguration on January 21, 2013. This page contains information regarding the swearing-in ceremony (including how to obtain tickets), the Inaugural Parade, and other related events. Please check back frequently as this page will be updated as new, more detailed information becomes available.

Swearing-in Tickets

The 57th Presidential Inauguration will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, January 21, 2013, on the West Front of the United States Capitol Building in Washington, DC. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) provides a limited number of tickets directly to each congressional office for distribution to constituents interested in attending this event. If you would like to request tickets to the swearing-in ceremony, please fill out the form below. Pennsylvanians interested in attending MUST:

  • be residents of the Commonwealth (Non-residents should contact their home state Senators and congressional representative to request tickets.);
  • if selected to receive tickets, be able to pick them up in person in the Senator’s Washington, DC office on January 18, 19 or 20;
  • submit complete contact information on the webform below no later than December 15, 2012.

Tickets to the inauguration are free to the public and not intended for sale. We will refuse tickets to anyone determined to be selling them.

Demand for tickets to this historic event often far exceeds the supply, so please be aware that placing a request is not a guarantee of tickets to the event. All requests will be acknowledged. Constituents receiving tickets will be provided with detailed pick-up information by early January.

Inaugural Parade Information

The Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR) has begun accepting applications from organizations wishing to apply to participate in the Inaugural Parade. This includes bands, marching and mounted units, and floats.

Applications can be submitted on-line at www.2013InaugurationParade.mil, where interested parties can also access additional information about the parade and view detailed instructions for completing and submitting their materials. Organizations are able to log-in, create an account, enter relevant data, and upload organization photos, a group biography, video clips, and copies of supporting correspondence from government and political leaders.

All applications must be submitted online no later than November 16, 2012.

All applications will be collected and organized by JTF-NCR for review by the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC), which is be appointed by the President-Elect. The PIC will select which organizations will participate in the Inaugural Parade. This selection process normally occurs in mid-December. Applicants will be notified by the PIC of their selection or non-selection at that time.

Groups selected to participate in the parade will be provided with additional information regarding parade day specifics, such as performance restrictions, security screening, staging and dispersal via the application website.

Inaugural Ball Information

Many inaugural balls and galas will take place at venues throughout Washington, DC following the Inauguration. The official balls planned by the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) are usually by invitation only. Congressional offices are not provided tickets for distribution to constituents. Similarly, unofficial balls, galas, and parties are planned by the State Societies of Washington, DC and a variety of other local and national organizations. These are ticketed events to which the prices of admission vary. Congressional offices do not receive tickets for constituents to any of these events.
