In the 112th Congress, I'm honored to be serving as a member of the House Budget Committee and House Armed Services Committee.  Additionally, I have been assigned to serve on the Armed Services Subcommittees for Seapower & Projection Forces and Oversight & Investigations.

Budget Committee

The Budget Committee oversees the process of creating a budget for the federal government each year by creating a Concurrent Resolution on the Budget.  This "budget resolution" sets the spending levels for each area of federal jurisdiction.

Armed Services Committee

The Armed Services Committee has oversight of the Department of Defense and the various branches of the military.   As a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Rep. Young is uniquely qualified to serve on this committee.

Seapower & Projection Forces Subcommittee

The Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee has oversight over the Navy and Marine Corps programs.  With Crane Naval Warfare Center located just outside the 9th District, this subcomittee deeply impacts many residents and local economies in Southern Indiana.

Oversight & Investigation Subcommittee

The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee conducts studies and investigations across the jurisdiction of the House Armed Services Committee, including inquiries into allegations of waste, fraud, abuse, and wrongdoing and inefficiencies within the Department of Defense.
