There is no question that spending in Washington is out of control. To combat this trend we must stop reckless spending, waste, fraud and abuse in our government programs and work to simplify our nation’s complex tax code and extend current tax cuts. Too many of the Obama Administration’s solutions are based on tax increases on the backs of American families to facilitate more wasteful government spending and a larger, less efficient bureaucracy.
As your Representative, I assure you that I will continue vote in favor of legislation that keeps as much money as possible in your pocket and away from Washington bureaucrats. To combat out of control spending and waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government,t I introduced H.R. 1023, the Federal Agency Program Realignment and Closure Act (FAPRAC). This forward looking bill is closely modeled after the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) process and utilizes the proven BRAC model that efficiently restructured the DOD to clear out inefficient and outdated agencies and programs that waste taxpayer dollars. All taxpayer savings will be used solely for deficit reduction.
I support tax code reform and will continue to support the idea of lower taxes and a more fair tax system that will reduce complicated and cumbersome taxes the American people must endure. I believe that you know how to spend your money better than the government. Thus, I am a proud cosponsor of H.R. 25, the Fair Tax Act and will continue to fight let the American people, not the government, decide how to spend their hard-earned money.
In addition, I have consistently voted in support of tax cuts that would create jobs and help over 111 million American families and Oklahoma’s small businesses. Unless these tax cuts are renewed, the American people will face increases in the Death Tax, a tax hike for many small businesses, a substantial tax increases in capital gains and dividends, and a child tax credit that is available to a much smaller number of Oklahoma families. I will continue to support tax relief that will help our country’s economy grow and provide relief to Oklahoma businesses over the future while adding relief to the growing tax burden all Americans face.
