Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Victories in Oklahoma

Sullivan secures 287g program for Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, August 2007
Sullivan secures permanent Fugitive Operations Detention and Removal Unit, September 2008
Sullivan secures Permanent ICE Investigations Office for Tulsa, April 2009

Since elected to Congress, I fought to bring more interior immigration enforcement resources to Eastern Oklahoma. I secured a permanent ICE detention and removal office for Tulsa, helped to increase the number of ICE agents in Oklahoma City from four to twelve and secured the Tulsa Country Sheriff’s office participation in the federal 287(g) immigration enforcement training  program.  I have also worked extensively with law enforcement agencies across the First District to ensure that criminal illegal aliens are reported to federal authorities. After years of coordination with Homeland Security officials, Tulsa is one of the most well equipped cities in the nation to deal with criminal illegal immigration. These are tremendous victories for the rule of law and public safety across Eastern Oklahoma.

As a member of the House Immigration Reform Caucus,  I am working hard to bring positive reform to our immigration system and develop a responsible immigration policy that stops illegal immigration. Illegal immigration presents a threat to the security of our borders and the rule of law in our nation. Simply put, border security is national security!  I have also taken a tough stance against any form of amnesty for illegal aliens, and H.R. 1751, DREAM Act.  This legislation would be a backdoor attempt to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, at the expense of law abiding citizens and legal residents.
